Setting a goal to push the limits can sometimes be easier said than done. But we all know the only way to achieve your goal is going to come from your own work. Having found a hill with enough distance and elevation gain I set about making a few climbs.
It's not the most thrilling ride but ignoring that, the sweat in my eyes, and the tales being told by the legs it helps to build some strength and endurance.
Some of the climbs give plenty of time to think and with the speed dropping to walking pace on the steeper sections a chance to hear or see things you could otherwise rush past at a higher pace. one such find was this echidna that was strolling along the trail side. It seemed quite camera shy as it tried to hide it's face in the soil, but by hanging around longer than it anticipated the little face soon showed again. Then it waddled off on its merry way and I set off in my direction.
